hiya guys
just a quick one to say thanks everyone who came to boots camp, it was loads of fun and some amazing sets from joe chip, aeroplane, cocadisco and heartbreak so thanks lots and hope you had a good time (it looked like it!).
earthquake is out this week, i know most of you reading this will have the album anyway but please buy it and lets have a vague attempt at stopping simon cowell and his minions from completely overtaking the charts?!? i have a theory soon he's going to buy christmas which will from thenforth only be known as X MASssss... all santa faces will only be legal with his face superimposed on them, all angels must look like cheryl cole etc etc.... maybe there will be some kind of panel judged show to find out if children have been naughty or nice and their christmas present will be decided by public vote??
[insert badly photoshopped pic of santa cowell here... damn you google image search]
ok but seriously in all honesty i've now watched a couple of episodes and got predictably hooked, it is probably the most entertaining thing on television... i can't get over the drama.... the massive theme tune... the x flying through space and catapulting to earth... the giant voice... "ITS THE X FACTOR!!!" etc etc... its just insane. but i was watching simon's opening monologue from the other night (he had a rant about sting or something) and thought god how much power does this man have? he has half the population hanging on his every word twice a week. that's much more than the prime minister. he could probably declare war on another planet and most of great britain would answer the call to arms. anyway i'm just thankful they are using their reach for good causes like great ormond street hospital so at least using all that power in a positive way.
on a much much much smaller scale i played a gig for the destroy rankin project in aid of youth music the other night, its a cause i try and do what i can for and something i really believe in, anyway the books are absolutely beautiful and even thought they're quite expensive they really are an amazing thing and proceeds go to the charity, you can get them at www.youthmusic.org.uk/rankin/home/ and find out more about youth music. the gig was really special (cheers everyone for the human league sing a long!) and i think the footage will be online soon i'll post it here when i know.
here is my destroyed rankin image (with a little help from chrissie!)... enjoy the earthquakes.... love me x
