      Hi Victoria,

Hope you had a good Christmas & New Year - mine started before this blog so hence the very late comment.

It's been a wonderful year getting into your music. Thanks for being so very personable after gigs with signing albums, pics etc. I'm glad you liked the picture from Wolverhampton that you signed aftershow at Stylus.

Got hold of a copy of Illuminations over New Year - will you please bring Not Now and Love Kills to the setlist in future tours?

      Best Wishes for 2010
      Kevin

It has been a great year for Little Boots. I am looking forward to her second album and touring again. I was lucky enough to be at her Shepherd's Bush gig and it was fantastic - she was surprised by the number of fans who turned up (she could easily sell out O2 Arena gig)!

I would love to see her work with: Stuart Price, Frankmusik, Pet Shop Boys, Bernard Sumner, Stephen Hague, Jellybean, Xenomania, Trevor Horn - I'm sure she will do her own thing.

      Have a Happy New Year!

    • Nick67 27.12.2009 @ 14:05:52PM

'Something to say?' Well, no, not really, other than the obvious: i.e. pretty much what everyone else has said below, and may fleets of angels sing thee to thy happiest & most non-hectic Yuletide possible, with love, lights, peace on Earth & petite footwear all the way.

Oh, and if anyone wishes to provide an answer to the following seasonal poser, please feel free:

Hello, Sorry it’s a bit last minute, and hope you get this, but just wanted to wish you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Thanks for all the great music and thanks for taking the time to blog, tweet and so on. Don’t know how you fit it all in but it’s really appreciated.

Just listened to the collaboration with Gary Numan. Absolutely incredible. Totally blew me away just like the first time I heard you on Later back in May. What a way to end the year.

So once again thanks for everything Little Boots and hope 2010 is as successful if not more so than 2009.

    • Little Rick 23.12.2009 @ 17:33:51PM

Meeting you (twice) was amazing. Again Merry Christmas and I hope you have a fantastic 2010 if 2009 is anything to go by.

      Love Ricky :) xxxxx

    Lasers, Apps and Xmas

Hi! i'm just on the train back from blackpool and there's snow everywhere!!!

so a few things i've been meaning to blog about, firstly LASER HARP!!!!!! for those of you who have been following the quest we now A) have one and B) it works!!! there were many many tears and sleepless nights for all involved so thank you everyone who persevered. does anyone have any pics of me playing it at sheperds bush or leeds? would love to see!

we've been documenting it all and have made it into a little film split into episodes, the first two of which are now up in the members section so log in to watch, the rest will be up soon. if you are not a member then here is the trailer to give you an idea....

maybe i should ask jarre if he fancies a duet??

next up is the LB iphone application.. at last!! we have been developing this since i think before the album was even fiinished but it took a while, still good things come to those who wait. it does some really cool things, you can remix versions of the songs and sample things and have musical environments and all sorts, its quite hard to explain as you'll see below so my advice is just to try it and see! here's a very bad video of me trying to explain it that was done many months ago when i was far less skilled/ practiced at fake enthusiasm so apologies but i am geniunely excited about it!

    lolz.

you can get it by clicking the iphone app button on the front page of this site.. i love my iphone. i've become one of THOSE people. never thought i'd see the day.

anyway finally its nearly christmas which I DON'T THINK I"VE EVER BEEN SO EXCITED FOR IN MY ENTIRE LIFE!!!! to get into the spirit me and the twitterers have been compiling a collaborative spotify playlist, you can listen/ add to it HERE if you have spotify, although please don't be a berk and delete other people's songs, even if you don't like them you can just press skip! (although if its fairytale of new york you have my total permission).

if you need any xmas present suggestions here are a few from lots of lovely and talented friends of mine... i haven't done ANY so bracing self for the last minute cram tomorrow... but check these out

BOOTIQUE - obviously the bootique is first port of call for stylish clothing gifts! goes down particularly well with 8 year old neices

DESTROY RANKIN - this is a book i am featured in alongside lots of other much more famous people photographed by rankin and destroyed all for the excellent cause of Youth Music and its a really lovely cool looking book

CHRISSIE LOVES YOU - the super talented chrissie who art directs everything i touch and has been incredible all year sells ace thing on her site, my fav is the 'in my mind i'm clapping' bags!

YELLOW BIRD TSHIRT - this is an exclusive boots t-shirt for the yellow bird project by chrissie and i, all funds go to youth music & british heart foundation looks the sex

MARK MAKING MARKS - my best fwend mark makes super scary illustrations and you can buy the prints for presents! just drop him an email and he will make sure you have them for xmas

MIKIO SAKABE- ace unicorn tshirts! what more can you want! but there is lots more lovely stuff too...

MOTEL- the best not vintage vintage clothing ever

OH AND CUPCAKES! THEY ARE ALL THE RAGE DON'T YOU KNOW!!!

    ok bye go shop x

EDIT: have just re-read this and want to apologise for the over use of exclamation marks, i must have been very excited about life this afternoon.

Enjoyed Leeds despite very poorly sound system run by geeks with no appreciation of just what constitutes "too much on the heavy bass-end." Harp was coooool

    • dead-disco 12.12.2009 @ 17:12:47PM

venus in furs is such a classic song- the VU were awesome and this was one of their best

    • zerobars 11.12.2009 @ 02:10:00AM

Wow that was the biz. Numans best mate did a cover of that years ago..maybe a bit of a tribute to him?? Cant wait to see the rest...A couple of weeks ago I asked could you maybe do a Numan cover and then this happens...what can I say...excellent stuff Miss Boots!!!!!!

    • barti 09.12.2009 @ 21:38:27PM

i see i miss loads of things not being in UK at the moment and i can't make it to shep bu
      really cool and brilliant gig!
"All I know is, I listened to a lot of his albums and he influenced the sound I make. Even though my music's upbeat, that doesn't necessarily mean it's uplifting – it can still be dark. I like that: uplifting music with dark lyrics." you said - sweet songs about bitter things - those are the best

why you didn't contact JMJ about a laser harp? he's cool enough to help you - anyway good luck - hope it will work perfectly

you in vogue?! nice! i think they just streched the picture

      keep yourself warm
      x

    • Neil 09.12.2009 @ 17:11:50PM

    • chrisxg 09.12.2009 @ 10:34:34AM

Wow this is music heaven!! You guys should record an album together, I can't think of any album I've loved as much as Hands since I bought the Pleasure Principle in 1981. Can't wait for the gig on friday, with the Bowery in NY that'll be four this year, one more even than the three of Gary's recent shows I managed to get to (don't tell Mr N, I've only been a fan since 1979!!) :)

    • Little Rick 09.12.2009 @ 08:21:12AM

    no more i love yous

the other night i performed at the annie lennox tribute evening along with the lovely noisttes, it was a great honour to be asked by annie as i'm such a fan and i was just playing acoustically so thought i would do one of her songs in tribute... for some reason i picked the most difficult song ever that's waaaay too high for me to sing but its my favourite and just such a beautiful song... anyway once i was there i was so so nervous i nearly bottled it but in soundcheck everyone egged me on so i found myself a few hours later at this posh do with all sorts of people there about 3 metres away from annie singing no more i love yous....

luckily it went ok and annie gave me a big hug afterwards and i had lots of nice feedback and felt really glad i'd done it, although i swear i've never been so nervous about a first note in my life! it was such an inspiring evening to see all the things annie has done and people she has helped, for more info about the SING campaign and everything she does check out www.annielennox.com

anyway i was rehearsing in the day for it and filmed one of the attempts, its not the greatest i was still a bit shaky on it at this point but thought i was shared as i've got out of the habit and that's not like me. so here you go... do you like the new place? not that much different!! but i'm gonna do it all up i've only just moved in so everything's a bit of a nightmare... i'm permenantly covered in paint.

also some songs i've been obsessing over this week......

      Hi Boots!

I'm just a bit curious as to how you came up with the name Arecibo for your 2008 EP. I'm actually from Puerto Rico and Arecibo is a name of a town in the island. I just recently heard your music for the first time through a friend and I'm very impressed by your talent.

Anyways, I was just joping you'd answer that! :D
Take care and many good things to come for you!
      Thanks!

    • The Unknown User 07.12.2009 @ 11:01:02AM

Great choice! No More I Love Yous really is one of Annie's best songs ever. And who cares if you're a bit shaky? It still sounds great! Singing is not about technique. Listen to Ella F or Billie H. If Ella sings my man has left me, all technically perfect, you think her man went to the supermarket. When Billie sings it, technically not as good as Ella, you feel her man has left, and will never ever return. It is that kind of fragility and emotion in singing that makes it great.
So screw technique: feel the music. You are great at that. (Echoes in Melkweg: chilling! So well done).

    • ceatolei 07.12.2009 @ 04:45:32AM

OMG we have a new corner now!!!

hope we'll have a lot of horses and cats around..

      thanks Bootsy!!

    • FiveDollarShake 07.12.2009 @ 02:00:17AM

Lovely stuff - what a tune!

      I've missed that gold cat!

Should so make space for an acoustic number in the tour...
